MIKE BREEN
-Accident Injury Attorney-
AN INJURY ATTORNEY WHO CARES
I understand that everyone needs help getting through difficult times in their lives. That’s why I work hard to see that the folks I serve have what they need to get back on their feet and move forward with their lives. There is nothing more satisfying than helping the hardworking people I represent. That’s why I got into personal injury law in the first place and have been practicing it for nearly 40 years.
MY LEGAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
I began my legal career in 1983 after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Law. I knew early on that I wanted to represent people who had been harmed by others — like corporations and insurance companies. I believed that the best way to become an excellent lawyer would be to learn things from the inside out. So, I worked as an insurance defense as a lawyer early in my career. This gave me valuable insight into how cases ought to be handled, and the inner workings of insurance companies.
FOUNDING BREEN & WILLIFORD, INJURY LAWYERS, P.S.C.
After eight years of learning about the needs of personal injury victims, and the most efficient ways to help them with their claims, I started my law firm in 1991. My founding philosophy is still what guides my firm today, "Deliver the very best service to clients during the difficult times in their lives, they need it and deserve it."
This simple philosophy has helped countless people and led to the rapid growth of a firm that has never forgotten its mission.
People matter to me, and I mean it when I say I care about every person who walks through the doors of my office. This passion for doing the right thing goes far beyond my convictions, though. My staff members have the same dedication and integrity I have. They work just as hard as I do and care just as much.
"My goal is to always deliver the
very best legal services to my
clients in their time of need.
My successful track record proves that
I work hard to do just that."
BEYOND THE OFFICE
In more than 35 years of legal experience, I’ve helped countless people get the compensation they deserve. And I've also been an active member of the legal community as I’ve always enjoyed speaking and writing on the law.
I’ve written books and articles, as well as taught other lawyers about protecting people from harm. In 1996, I published a book on insurance called Bad Faith in Kentucky: A Primer, which is now the leading work on the subject. I have frequently given professional presentations to fellow attorneys on insurance practices, and do occasional consulting work on those issues. I hosted a radio talk show for four years called “The Legal Scene with Mike Breen” and also wrote a guest column for The Park City Daily News called “Legally Speaking”.
Today, I’m a member of the American Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys, and Bench & Bar magazine.
AWARDS & RECOGNITION
In 1996, I received the “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a national attorney rating service. It is the highest rank a lawyer can receive. I have also been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers since 2012 and was recently selected again for 2016. This is a real honor as only the top 5 percent of lawyers get chosen for inclusion in this prestigious recognition.
