GRAYSON COUNTY, KY – WOMAN INJURED IN CRASH INVOLVING WRONG-WAY VEHICLE ON ELIZABETHTOWN RD
Grayson County, KY (June 9, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident took place in Grayson County on Wednesday morning as a result of a wrong-way driver. At about 3:20 a.m., on June 8, the Grayson County Sheriff’s office was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Elizabethtown Road, Highway 62.
Reports provided by authorities indicate that a vehicle was traveling the wrong way down the highway during the early morning hours. A Lexus passenger vehicle was traveling on the roadway when its 27-year-old driver spotted the wrong-way vehicle traveling towards her in her lane.
As a result, the Lexus driver swerved to avoid colliding with the vehicle. The Lexus went off the roadway and traveled down a 5-foot embankment before crashing into a grassy field. The woman suffered injuries as a result of the accident and was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center for emergency medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
