CAVE CITY, KY – MAN FATALLY INJURED IN DUMP TRUCK CRASH WITH TRAIN ON STATE QUARRY RD
Cave City, KY (July 15, 2022) – A major motor vehicle crash reported in the Cave City area claimed one man’s life on Wednesday afternoon. At around 3 p.m., on July 13, the Kentucky State Police responded to the scene of a crash on State Quarry Road.
Police reports indicate that a 33-year-old man from Leitchfield was driving a 2014 Mack dump truck southbound in the 400 block of State Quarry Road. For unknown reasons, his vehicle was struck by a westbound CSX train.
The driver of the Mack truck suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County coroner.
At this time, trooper Walker Hogan of the Kentucky State Police is leading the investigation surrounding the accident.
