CAR ACCIDENTS IN KENTUCKY

Auto wrecks in Kentucky leave over 30,000 people injured every year. There are many instances where people suffer from broken bones, traumatic brain injuries, and even internal organ damage due to the negligence of others. Some of the most common causes of crashes in our state include:

Impairment: driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol continues to be one of the most unfortunate causes of crashes in our state every year. When people are impaired, they may lose control of their vehicles quickly. In many instances, impaired drivers are not able to respond in time to avoid a collision.

Distractions: we see thousands of people hurt every year due to accidents caused by distractions. Although there are laws in place that prevent people from driving while using their cell phones, we continue to see this as a major contributing factor in most of our crashes.

Speeding: when people travel above the posted speed limit, they may have problems controlling their vehicles in time to stop to avoid a collision. We see many people harmed in accidents due to speeding as people travel around curved roadways, construction zones, and while approaching intersections.

Failing to yield: when people fail to yield the right of way to other motorists, they can cause severe and life-changing crashes. It is important that drivers yield the right-of-way to other motorists so they can travel to their destination safely.

When people are hurt in accidents due to the negligence of others, they should reach out to a Bowling Green personal injury attorney as soon as possible. Those harmed may have legal options available to help them move forward.
