Mike Breen March 29, 2022

Bowling Green, KY (March 29, 2022) – The Bowling Green Police Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Monday morning that ended in injuries.

Just before 10:30 a.m., on March 28, the police department was notified that their assistance was needed alongside firefighters at the scene of a crash that took place on East McLellan Road.

Reports show that a collision involving motor vehicles was the cause of moderate delays in traffic near the intersection of East McLellan Road and McGloclin Way. The police and the Bowling Green Fire Department blocked off a portion of the roadway as they worked to remove the vehicles and debris from the roadway.

The police confirmed that this accident resulted in injuries. At least one person was transported to a local hospital where they underwent further medical care.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation by the police.

Our thoughts are with the victims who were injured in this accident. We hope for their full and timely recovery.

CAR ACCIDENTS IN KENTUCKY

Every month, motor vehicle accidents in the state of Kentucky leave more than 2,600 people injured. A significant amount of these accidents take place as a result of other drivers’ negligence.

Some of the most common causes of auto accidents we see include:

Distractions: Since the use of cellphones swept across the nation more than two decades ago, we have seen a major increase in the number of people harmed by drivers who are texting and talking on their phones.

Impairment: Even though driving while under the influence of drugs and alcohol is highly illegal in all fifty states, we continue to see countless people injured and killed in accidents with impaired drivers. Those under the influence of alcohol may have a difficult time controlling their vehicles.

Reckless actions: Drivers who speed, run red lights, and engage in other reckless actions continue to place the lives of others at risk.

If you are injured in an accident as a result of another driver's actions, you may be entitled to compensation that you can use to cover lost wages, medical expenses, and other costs you face from your accident.
