Bowling Green, KY (April 16, 2022) – Authorities were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident that resulted in injuries in the Bowling Green area. At around 10 a.m., on April 15, the Bowling Green Police Department was notified that an auto accident took place on Interstate 165.

Reports provided by local authorities show that a collision between vehicles occurred on the southbound side of Interstate 165 in the area of mile marker 11. The incident resulted in moderate delays in the area.

EMS responded to the scene to render aid to the victims. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for further care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the victims who were injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.

In Kentucky, motor vehicle accidents leave tens of thousands of people injured every year. These accidents can have immediate and long-term impacts on those involved. There are many cases where victims are left with painful injuries that require energy surgery. Some of the most common types of injuries that victims of car accidents in Kentucky suffer include:

  • Severe spinal cord injuries that lead to paralysis

  • Back injuries that make it difficult to lift, squat, and move freely

  • Broken bones that require surgery and lengthy therapy

  • Traumatic brain injuries that result in mental, physical, and emotional suffering

Victims who suffer these and other severe injuries have to go through extensive medical care. Some people remain in area hospitals for several days or even weeks after their accidents.

After victims are released, they often require therapy and other lengthy treatments. Although many treatment options are available for victims, they come with no guarantee of a full recovery. Even more, there is no promise that victims will make a full recovery. Many people are left permanently disabled as a result of their injuries. Regrettably, most motor vehicle accidents in our state result from drivers engaging in reckless and negligent actions. We constantly see victims harmed by distracted, impaired, or speeding drivers.

When people are hurt in auto wrecks due to the negligence of others, they may be able to obtain financial compensation by filing a personal injury claim against the at-fault driver.
